What is Trauma Sensitive Movement?
An introduction to Trauma Sensitive Mindful Movement
For those that are curious how to offer an inclusive, safe, supportive space for their students in movement sessions, be it yoga, pilates, fitness training, mindfulness movement sessions. This 2.5 hour course introduces you to the basic concepts of trauma sensitive movement and how language, cues and guidance can support your community particularly those living with or having lived with trauma or PTSD.
During this course we will discuss live via zoom workshop the following topics:
- What is Trauma?
- What does it mean to be Trauma Sensitive?
- What’s the glue that connects the whole network?
- How does trauma effect us?
- Recognising Trauma
- Best practices and supports
This course is an introduction to the full Teaching Trauma Sensitive Mindful Movement Course (TTSMM). You may wish to take this course independently or as a pathway to further studies in the subject area to broaden your skills and knowledge in offering TTSMM for your participants/students/clients.
