A Self Care Course that will assist you to manage Muscular pain. Muscles discomfort & pain can often result from a prolonged sitting position, poor posture or from regular exercises which causes muscle tension (knots) or hypertonicity and sometimes soft tissue adhesions (feeling of tension and stiffness). Past injuries, surgeries & emotional weelbeing can also contribute to the body feeling fascially tight and bounded.
Regular massage, movement classes and keeping in good mental health will assist the body in managing the muscles discomfort and pain. However living in this real world, we are all time poor and start to lose the body-mind connection with our body, and body pains and discomforts start to surface.
In this self care workshop, we will be exploring our body through functional anatomy, visceral organs and the craniosacral system of the body and mind. With this understanding, we will be using yoga blocks, foam roller and massage balls to aid us in decreasing fascia and muscle immobility and pain. We will also look at common clinical conditions and how we can use self massage techniques to relief the pain syndrome or help your partner or children with it. This is done through direct pressure and trigger pointing to gently release soft tissue adhesions, leaving the relaxed muscles, relief of muscle pain and improving blood & lymphatic circulation. The workshop will be presented in the 27 th October from Midday till 4.30 starting from feet and working our way up.
All participants will take home a trigger point guide, self care notes and a goodie bag worth $XXX

Your facilitator Karen comes from a movement background. Her love for movement started at the age of 4years. She was part of a traditional folk dance troupe and later went on to study classical ballet throughout her primary school years.
Her love for movement has led her to quit her corporate job in Singapore and went to live & study Yoga in India to became a Yoga Teacher after. Karen has taught many how to use yoga for connecting body,mind & spirit for almost two decades and is passionate about healing through movement. Her favourite yoga class is teaching Yoga on a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP Yoga) on the lake or in the ocean. Karen is a certified SUP instructor and also a Polestar Pilates instructor specialises in Rehab Pilates.
Karen also holds a Diploma in Remedial massage and runs a busy massage clinic in Glenelg. She is also an advance CranioSacral Practitioner and has helped several clients heal from insomnia, anxiety, depression, migraine ect.
Karen lives by the beautiful coastal town of Seacliff with her 3 teenage children, 10 rabbits and a very supportive firefighter partner. On her days off, you can find her showing rabbits at the rabbit show with her daughter, rock climbing through morialta, reading, meditating, painting or Stand Up paddle boarding down the coast with her family.
